You can't put a Germanium Fuzz Face after a VOX/Crybaby, for the same reason you can't have a volume control after the Wah. The low impedance input of the Germanium Fuzz 'shorts out" (or loads down) the 100k pot. So the Wah stops Wah-ing. Luckily, a JFET buffer and a 47k resistor after the Wah fixes the problem. The Wah and Fuzz Face now can't see each other, so there is no loss of Wah. The 47k resistor is Doug Hammond's invention.
