The Orange Squeezer is a great sounding compressor with a big volume boost, so it works as an
overdrive pedal. You can make one yourself. So I thought I would build one and take pictures.
You can get enough information to build the Orange Squeezer at
Tonepad.com, the PCB and the
remaining parts at Small Bear.
The originals cost $29.95 (this was a long time ago), and was Dan's best seller. You can make one
yourself for $29.95 or so if you use a throat lozenge box to put it in. $50 for a floor mounted box
with a sturdy footswitch and a Volume knob. This is fairly cheap, and does sound good. Way Huge
had the Saffron Squeeze (nudge nudge, wink wink), there are various boutique versions. You can
see that the production units used different parts and PCBs. One may be a reissue.
